McKea comes to Urban Alliance after spending 15+ years in the Educational Field as a former Teacher and Dean of Students serving Metro-Detroit Youth. A proud graduate of Detroit Public Schools, she continued her education right here at home. She obtained a bachelor’s at Wayne State University, and a master’s at Marygrove College, and is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Educational Leadership & Policy Studies. McKea is experienced in the Non-Profit sector as a Summer Program Director for Minds In Action. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for this youth organization. She is committed to student success and passionate about the work carried out at Urban Alliance and in the community.

McKea enjoys writing children’s stories, serving the community with her sorority Alpha Kappa Alpha Inc. singing on the Praise Team, and spending time with her husband Michael, and daughter Mia-Chloe.
