Nerina Martinez

Program Manager

Nerina began her role as a High School Internship Program (HSIP) Lead for Urban Alliance in September 2022. Her journey with Urban Alliance began as an intern in Chicago’s first cohort. Since then, she has supported the program as an alumnus and has been a mentor for HSIP.  Nerina graduated from DePaul University and holds a bachelor’s degree in Sociology.  She has played an integral role in addressing resource gaps in several southside Chicago neighborhoods. Throughout her career, she has worked closely with community members and women who were reintegrating into the community after incarceration. She has narrowed her passion to building programs for young people. While working as the Youth Experiencing Success (YES) Mentor at Latino Youth High School during the 2021-2022 school year, she successfully rebuilt a workforce readiness program. In addition to offering career exploration opportunities, she partnered with local organizations to secure paid work experience for students.
