Jazmine Banks is the Engagement Specialist at Urban Alliance Detroit. Prior to joining the Urban Alliance family, Jazmine served as an AmeriCorps coach and Pro Trainer for Playworks Michigan, for four years. As a coach, she served on the first AmeriCorps Leadership team where she connected with other coaches nationally, gathered and created tools to help enhance the AmeriCorps experience, and provided safe and healthy play in three schools: impacting over 2000 students. As a trainer, she facilitated trainings for students and adults, introduced and implemented programming, and built sustainable relationships and partnerships with 40+ schools and organizations.  

Jazmine has over 10 years of customer service experience and working in the hospitality, wedding, and event planning industries. Her passion for helping youth stems from her experiences as a youth dance instructor, college orientation mentor (proud Central Michigan Alumna), and her belief in being a resource. During her time working in programs supporting underrepresented and first generational communities, she learned the value of collaboration and making sure someone feels and IS seen. If she has the opportunity to help someone, she will. 

When Jazmine isn’t working, she’s somewhere dancing, eating, or planning a vacation!
