How you can help
As a result of the COVID-19 outbreak, many Americans are facing harsh economic realities – including Urban Alliance youth.
Our interns primarily come from low-income communities among the hardest-hit economically by the COVID-19 pandemic, and interns rely on their regular paychecks:
80% of our interns contribute at least a portion of their paychecks to household expenses.
91% of interns qualify for free or reduced-priced meals, and with schools closed, may not be receiving three meals a day.
Over 50% of young people in a recent poll reported some loss of income due to COVID-19.
